Charles Manson was a notorious cult figure whose followers murdered nine people in 1969. His victims included Sharon Tate, the eight-month-pregnant wife of Hollywood movie director Roman Polanski.

Manson was sentenced to life imprisonment but died at age 83 at a hospital close to the Corcoran State Prison where he was incarcerated. The famous prisoner’s body and estate has remained the subject of conflicting claims from people who claim to be listed in his will.

Another claimant to the mass murderer’s estate is Matt Lentz, of Southern California. Lentz says he is Manson’s son but adopted by an Illinois couple since he was a child.

He claims to have a 2017 will written and signed by Manson listing him as sole heir to his estate and memorabilia collector Ben Gurecki as executor. Lentz insists a DNA test would verify that he is truly Manson’s son.

Another contender to Manson’s body and estate is Jason Freeman, resident in Florida. Freeman said he is Manson’s grandson, and his father was Charles Manson Jr. who committed suicide in 1993.

He claims his grandmother was Rosalie Willis, Manson’s first wife. Freeman said he would love to claim his grandfather’s body for proper burial before coming into his inheritance.

Charles Manson’s Murderabilia

Whoever is awarded Charles Manson’s estate will come into an inheritance worth thousands of dollars. This includes writings, art and music, some of which were recorded by the Beach Boys and Guns N’ Roses.

Manson also had at least two guitars as at the time of his death on November 19, 2017. A judge will consider the various wills purportedly written and signed by Manson and decide on his rightful heir.
