JUST weeks after Prison Break creator Paul Scheuring revealed that the upcoming reboot would mark the Fox drama’s end, Wentworth Miller has assured the show could have a longer future than initially reported.
Prison Break Season 5 May Not Be the Finale
Filming for the fifth season is currently well underway, with nine more episodes featuring the majority of the original major cast reprising their celebrated roles – including Miller, despite his leading man Michael Schofield meeting a grisly end in the season four finale.
Miller, 44, told press at the San Diego comic-con over the weekend:
“There’s always room for more, in my mind. As long as it’s a story that’s worth telling, as long as it feels justified and cool and edgy.
It has to be something that’s not going to let the fans down, that’s going to satisfy and surprise. I’m open to the conversation.”
Sarah Wayne Callies Not So Optimistic About a Prison Break Season 6
However, his co-star Sarah Wayne Callies seemed less optimistic about a possible sixth cycle.
Prison Break is the gift that keeps on giving, and it could be coming back again…someday.
In May, Fox announced that Prison Break’s most-current journey aka the revival, which was the fifth season overall of the show, would not be moving forward for the 2017-2018 TV season.
That being said, the masterminds behind the series aren’t closing the book on the hit forever. In a new interview with TV Line, FOX entertainment chief David Madden hinted that there could still be a sixth season of the Prison Break series.
Madden told TV Line at the 2017 Television Critics Association summer press event:
“If the producers have a thought about how to explore another iteration of it, we’d be excited to talk,”
While there aren’t any current talks about moving forward with Prison Break, knowing that the top brass is at least open to hearing future pitches in regards to the series is great news for fans of brothers:
- Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell)
- Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller)

Miller previously admitted that he’d welcome more tales about his character Michael.
Pair that with news of a potential second revival in the future, and fans are right in holding out hope for even more from this show and the great actors of Prison Break!
