Tekashi 6ix9ine Facing Prison Time

Fast forward to today, and he’s the most famous prisoner in the State of New York right now. The viral sensation appeared in court on Monday in Manhattan. There he plead not guilty to various charges.

According to the DA, the rapper is a “violent, drug-dealing gang member.”

He came is sporting his signature rainbow-colored hair braided up, wearing his navy blue prison scrubs. Also making appearances where his three co-defendants. All four have been indicted on racketeering and firearms charges.

The DA alleges that they are all dangerous gangbangers.

Family members of the defendants packed the Manhattan courtroom. When Assistant US Attorney Michael Longyear explained the charges against the men to the judge, laughter broke out for some reason. Maybe it was the jokes the judge was cracking.

Longyear told the court he possessed surveillance video of a shooting that took place at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on April 21. The rapper was scheduled to perform there. According to Longyear, the video links Tekashi 6ix9ine to the shooting.

Why Is Tekashi 6ix9ine in Jail in New York?

The night’s boxing match was between Jessie Vargas and Adrien Broner. Takashi and his entourage were also planning to watch this bout, one of three scheduled for the night.

They began to make their way to the VIP area. Reports from TMZ say that’s when a rival rap group confronted them. Someone in the tattooed-rappers crew pulled out a gun and let off one shot.

No one was hit by the bullet.

Later, someone found a .32-caliber shell there at the scene. The arena staff handled the shell. So by the time police processed it, the evidence was tainted. 6ix9ine and crew remained for police questioning.

Not one of them were found to be holding a weapon.

But prosecutors say Daniel Hernandez AKA Tekashi 6ix9ine and five members of his entourage are essentially gangbanging terrorists. They’re accused of members of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, who terrorize the city of New York.

Four others were also charged:

  • Kifano Jordan AKA Shottie – His manager (recently fired)
  • Faheem “Crippy” Walter – Former associate
  • Jamel “Mel Murda” Jones – Former associate
  • Jensel “Ish” Butler – Former associate

Did Tekashi Use Stardom for Special Treatment in Jail

Last Wednesday night, Lance Lazzaro, the rapper’s attorney, revealed that he’d been transferred. He had no idea where his client was being housed. He just knew the transfer from the Brooklyn federal prison was related to threats he received from his co-defendants

Now the famous prisoner is back in the news again. On Saturday, Hip Hop Wired reported that Tekashi may be getting special treatment in the New York prison facility where he’s now housed.

According to TMZ, inmates reported that the rapper is in a dormitory usually used to house:

  • Informants AKA RATS
  • High-profile inmates
  • Child predators
  • Dirty cops

When he arrived, the guards cleared out the dorm. Later, they let the other inmates back inside. None from the infamous gang were allowed in the dorm. He’s now housed in a dormitory with 11 “docile” inmates.

This form of special treatment infuriated the other prisoners. They became vocal and loud, yelling about their anger at how 69 is being treated.

His attorney says he really doubts if Tekashi is getting treatment any better than the other inmates.

Tekashi 6ix9ine: Turning Tragedy Into Fame

With all that said, many of us are asking ourselves, who the h3ll is Tekashi 6ix9ine. And why should we care?

Well, the answer may have something to do with a robbery earlier this year. It seems there are multiple stories behind the ordeal, which happened back in July. And the press and fans seemed to soak it all up like a hard-hitting TV drama.

Takashi became famous in late 2017. It all began with his platinum hit single Gummo. But it wasn’t this hit that propelled him to stardom. It was news stories like:

  • Choking a 16-year old
  • Use of a child in a sexual performance
  • Major beefs with multiple other rappers

But it was the July 2018 robbery that took him to the top of the gossip charts.

Tekashi 6ix9ine: Robber Story #1

TMZ reported that Tekashi 6ix9ine was working with Hip Hop artist Nicki Minaj on a music video. He left for home about 4:00 in the morning.

When he arrived in his driveway, the rapper was attacked.

He was jumped by men in hoods who whipped him with pistols until he passed out. The rap artist told NYPD that they put him in the back seat of his own car. They threatened to kill him if he didn’t hand over his money and expensive jewelry.

The bandits went on to ransack the car looking for other valuables. They got away with between $15K to $20K in cash and about $750K in jewelry.

His ex-girlfriend and their daughter saw the whole thing, according to what the rapper told the NYPD officers.

Later, the story seemed to change quite a bit. Tekashi then told the cops that he was NOT jumped at home in his driveway.

Instead, he claimed he was attacked after the assailants rear-ended his car. This left him stuck at a red light. He was supposed jumped at the intersection.

6ix9ine says the bandits hopped out of their car. They then dragged him out of his car and into the backseat of theirs. Then, they took him to his home where they made him call his ex-girlfriend/baby’s mother.

He was instructed to have her bring their valuables to the scene. She did. Somehow, according to this story, they were both able to get away.

Which Tekashi 6ix9ine Robbery Story Is True?

No one but Tekashi 6ix9ine, the mother of his child and the alleged robbers know exactly what happened that early Monday morning

Both stories are extreme, wild and pretty unbelievable.

However, this is definitely the type of drama that creates true stars in America. This guy is 100% problematic. He’s determined to make a name for himself in the music industry as “hard.”

Although his persona makes the celebrity seem like a force to be reckoned with. He was the laughing stock of the industry after he got jumped and robbed.

Now, he’s one of New York’s famous prisoners… sitting in a jail cell under protective custody awaiting his fate. And still I ask…. why should we care?
